Why Women Walk the Wall 2026 will be a Guided Walking Holiday Like No Other

One of the joys of leading walks along Hadrian’s Wall is the mix of people you meet, both the guests who join us and the folk we encounter along the way. I love learning about different life experiences, perspectives, and personalities. It’s what makes every walk feel genuinely unique.
When you bring a group of women together, though, something slightly different happens. I’m sure men experience their own version of this too, but as a woman walking with other women, there’s an immediate sense of ease. Barriers drop. People settle into themselves. Conversations begin to flow, and the anxieties and tensions we carry start to dissolve into the landscape around us.
We find common ground in our lived experiences. Stories are shared. Encouragement comes easily. There’s laughter, silliness, and space to be wonderfully unserious. We can allow ourselves to be fully present.

Women Walk the Wall 2026 was created to offer exactly that. A space for women to feel connected, to be gently challenged, to step away from the noise and pressures of everyday life, and to move forward through beautiful landscapes with time, support, and room to breathe.
Set along Hadrian’s Wall, this is not just a multi-day guided walking holiday. It’s a women-only adventure shaped around encouragement, support and shared experience. A chance to step into wide skies and ancient places, knowing you’re held by the group, the guides, and the rhythm of the days.
This is walking as it should feel. Grounded, empowering, and a lot of fun.
A Walking Holiday Designed with Women in Mind
Women Walk the Wall didn’t appear by accident. It grew out of years of guiding, listening, and noticing what women actually want from a walking holiday.

This experience is built around thoughtful pacing, not pressure. Support without fuss. Clear information, kind leadership, and a strong sense of community from day one. You don’t need to be the fastest, the fittest, or the loudest. You just need to be willing to show up.
Inclusivity matters here. Neurodivergent walkers are welcome. Bodies of all shapes and abilities are respected. LGBTQ+ women are explicitly included and celebrated. This is a space where you don’t need to explain yourself or shrink to fit.
Safety is practical and emotional. You’ll know what to expect, who’s leading you, and how the days will flow. That reassurance creates the freedom to enjoy the walk fully.
More Than a Hike, It’s a Journey
This isn’t about ticking off miles or chasing a finish line. It’s about what happens along the way. Time outdoors creates space for reflection. Long conversations unfold naturally between footsteps. Silences are comfortable. The landscape does some of the work for you.
Not gonna lie-I’m not a professional hiker by any stretch, and my knees are constant reminders of that. Throughout the walk, Claire was kind and patient, and she had a great sense of humour (and adventure-she clearly likes what she does). I guess that’s to be expected. —Betty
Where You’ll Walk, Stay & Eat While You Walk the Wall
We'll start each morning with a brilliant breakfast, whether you like hot and hearty or light and bright, and time to chat or enjoy some quiet time. We will then be transported to the start of the day's walk.

As we walk, there will be snacks on hand to keep you sustained. We'll share the history and stories of the local landscapes and sights; we'll explore the hidden gems, snack shacks, and honesty boxes we encounter en route, and we'll keep everyone apprised of the distance to the next conveniences. We also take time to enjoy a 'second breakfast' or cheeky sweet treat and caffeinated beverage to keep us going until lunch. Packed lunches are created for each walker's preferences and nutritional requirements. We cater for vegans as well as accommodate most food allergies.
At the end of each day, we're transported back to Beaufront Castle, which adds a layer of quiet luxury and history without tipping into formality. Think crackling fires, good food, and the feeling of being properly looked after at the end of a full day outside.

Meals matter too. Local produce, relaxed dining, and time to sit together and decompress. We also offer special optional extras to make sure everyone feels fully cared for, whether it's a relaxing massage, a relaxing yoga session or an invigorating sauna and cold plunge. A quiet, comfy night's sleep awaits everyone.
There is no obligation to complete each day; if you want a day off, that's not a problem. You can enjoy a day relaxing and resting in the castle or exploring Hexham or Corbridge.

Who Is This For?

This experience tends to call to women at turning points. Milestones, transitions, celebrations, or moments of recalibration.
It’s for women who want to try something that feels a little brave but don’t want to do it alone. For those who enjoy a challenge, but on humane terms. For anyone who’s tired of performance culture and wants an adventure that feels nourishing rather than draining.
This is not bootcamp. It’s not a race. It’s a guided walking holiday that meets you where you are and invites you to go a little further, with support every step of the way.
Curious How to Join the Adventure?
Women Walk the Wall is intentionally small. Places are limited to keep the experience personal, connected, and slow. That’s part of what makes it special.
If something in this story has tugged at you, you can find practical details and next steps on the main event page. If you feel the call, we’d love to walk with you.
The Bit at the Bottom Where we Answer Stuff
Is this suitable for beginners? Yes. You don’t need to be an experienced hiker, but you should be comfortable walking for several hours a day. We’ll help you prepare with a training plan tailored to your schedule, current activity level, and personal goals.
What if I have dietary or access needs? These are welcomed and planned for. Just drop us a message so we can talk things through in advance. We’ll do our best to make any adjustments needed so you can enjoy the experience comfortably and confidently.
What gear do I need? Good footwear, weather-appropriate layers, and a daypack are the essentials. You won’t be left guessing, though. We’ll send you a detailed kit guide well ahead of time, and we’re always only a text away if questions come up while you’re getting ready.
Can I come solo? Absolutely. Many women join on their own, and it’s something this experience really supports. Whether you arrive solo, with a friend, or as part of a small group, you’ll be welcomed from the very start. Our aim is to make sure everyone feels comfortable, cared for, and supported, from first contact right through to the final farewell.
What if I fall ill or have an accident? This is a really common concern, and a completely understandable one. We’re both outdoor first-aid trained and prepared to deal with the everyday bumps, blisters, and minor ailments that can crop up on a multi-day walk.
In the unlikely event of something more serious, we’ll support you calmly and practically. We know the area well and can get you the help and attention you need quickly, so you’re never left to manage on your own.
If you’re searching for women-only walking holidays in the UK that feel inclusive, meaningful, and genuinely different, Women Walk the Wall 2026 offers something rare. Not just a walk, but a shared journey through the outstanding northern landscapes, local culture and histories, and connection. Book your place now!
Of all the walks we've taken together, this one is my favorite. – Unknown
