Do tours run in bad weather?
Yes, this Whistle-Stop tour is a perfect way to explore Hadrian’s Wall in colder and wetter months from the comfort of a warm and dry car.
If conditions are unsafe (such as icy roads or storms), we’ll contact you with alternative options.
When and where do you offer pick ups?
We offer pick-ups within a 10-mile radius of The Sill National Landscape Discovery Centre. For locations further afield, an additional fee applies.
Between 8 am and 4 pm (April–September) and between 9 am and 2 pm (October–March).
How difficult is the walk?
The route is a mix of uneven paths, grassy areas, and undulating terrain. With only a small amount of walking, this is our most accessible tour. Walking poles are available.

What is your cancellation policy?
You may cancel up to 24 hours before your tour for a full refund. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the start time are non-refundable. If we ever need to cancel (rare), you’ll be offered a full refund or a chance to reschedule.
What should I Wear?
We recommend sturdy footwear such as hiking boots or walking shoes with good grip. Trainers are fine in dry weather.
Bring a waterproof jacket just in case. We can provide hats, gloves, buffs, scarves and a blanket for the car in colder months as well as sun protection and visors in warmer months.
Is Hadrian's Wall worth it?
Absolutely. Hadrian’s Wall is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Britain’s most iconic landmarks. You’ll experience one of the most dramatic sections of the Wall, explore Roman ruins, hear local stories, and walk on the only part of the Wall where it’s still allowed.
What is the best time of year to walk Hadrian's Wall?
April to October, when the trail is lively and the days are longer. For a quieter experience, early spring and autumn are fantastic. Winter walks can be magical too, with the Wall standing stark against frosty hills and big skies.
How long will it take?
Most tours take around 2–3 hours. With additional stops or pick-ups further away, the tour can run up to 4 hours. If you have specific timings, we can adapt the schedule to suit you.
