Friendship Walk

Join us for a relaxed guided evening walk along Hadrian’s Wall in Northumberland as part of the Heddon-on-the-Wall Culture Festival. This social countryside walk combines local history, beautiful views and fun activities along the way. Come with a friend, neighbour or loved one and enjoy a friendly group walk, then return in time for the festival quiz and music night.

Why Choose this Event?

Join us for a relaxed evening walk from Heddon-on-the-Wall, right on the line of Hadrian’s Wall. Surrounded by open countryside, big skies and wide views across the Tyne Valley, it’s a lovely place to slow down, stretch your legs and enjoy being outdoors.

We’ll set off at an easy, social pace, following a gentle route through the landscape. There’s plenty of time to chat, laugh and take in the scenery along the way, so whether you’re coming with friends or arriving on your own, you’ll feel comfortable from the start.

This walk forms part of the Heddon-on-the-Wall Culture Festival, which this year celebrates Friendship. There’s no better way to connect than walking side by side, sharing stories and spending time outdoors together.

Along the way, we’ll pause for a few light-hearted activities, share a little local history, and raise a small toast to Amicitia, the Roman goddess of friendship. Nothing too serious, just a bit of fun to bring people together. There may even be a few prizes along the way.

We’ll arrive back in the village in time for the quiz and music night, so the evening can continue with good company, a bit of friendly competition and a great community atmosphere.

With limited places available, this is a small, friendly event designed to bring people together, enjoy the landscape, and make the most of a summer evening on Hadrian’s Wall.

Perfect for friends, neighbours, couples, visitors, locals and anyone who enjoys walking, chatting and spending time outdoors. Suitable for anyone 13+. This is a well-behaved dog friendly event.
