Friendship Walk
Join us for a relaxed guided evening walk along Hadrian’s Wall in Northumberland as part of the Heddon-on-the-Wall Culture Festival. This social countryside walk combines local history, beautiful views and fun activities along the way. Come with a friend, neighbour or loved one and enjoy a friendly group walk, then return in time for the festival quiz and music night.
Why Choose this Event?
Heddon-on-the-Wall sits on the line of Hadrian’s Wall, surrounded by open countryside, big skies and wide views across the Tyne Valley. It’s the perfect place for a relaxed evening walk, especially as the light begins to soften and the day starts to wind down.
We’ll set off at an easy pace and follow a gentle route through the landscape, with time to talk, laugh and enjoy the scenery along the way.
This year’s Heddon-on-the-Wall Culture Festival theme is Friendship, and there really is no better way to connect than walking side by side, sharing stories and spending time outdoors together.
Along the way we’ll stop for a few light-hearted activities, learn a little about Hadrian’s Wall and the local area, and take a moment to raise a small toast to Amicitia, the Roman goddess of friendship. There may even be a few fun prizes along the way.
We’ll arrive back in the village in time for the quiz and music night, so the evening can continue with good company, a bit of friendly competition and a great community atmosphere.
With limited places available, this is a small, relaxed and friendly event designed to bring people together, enjoy the landscape, and celebrate the community that makes this area such a special place to live and visit.
Perfect for friends, neighbours, couples, visitors, locals, and anyone who enjoys walking, chatting and spending time outdoors.

In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks.
