About the event

For the second year running, we’re proud to support our chosen charity! After the success of last year’s guided walk, we’re excited to partner again with Tynedale Hospice at Home for a 6.5-mile fundraising walk, raising awareness and vital funds for their incredible palliative care services.

Cawfields Quarry

This walk is open to anyone with a reasonable amount of fitness, the route covers some steep climbs and open countryside. We invite all people to participate and offer rest breaks and walking poles for extra confidence and comfort en route. We’ll start by catching the AD122 bus from The Sill to Walltown, where our guided walk begins. Along the way, we’ll pause at Cawfields Quarry for a picnic break (supporters are welcome to join!) before continuing along Hadrian’s Wall, taking in breathtaking views from Winshield Crags. You’ll walk past some of the Wall’s most impressive sections, including Milecastle 42, the Vallum, and the highest and exact midpoint of Hadrian’s Wall.

Guides Claire and Katie will bring the journey to life with fascinating stories and insights, making this more than just a walk—it’s a chance to challenge yourself, connect with others and make a real difference in our community.

The registration fee includes:

  • guided walk

  • bus fare to Walltown

  • commemorative map

Our goal is to raise £2,000, and we’d love your support! We encourage participants to find sponsors and fundraise—every contribution, no matter how small, truly makes a difference to our chosen charity.

Do Your Bit for the Planet:

  • Catch the 10:35 AD122 Bus from Hexham Bus Station to Walltown - lets us know if you'll be joining us on the bus to Walltown.

  • Return AD122 bus leaves The Sill at 16:29 or 18:29 for Hexham Bus Station

Join us in supporting this amazing local charity and the vital work they do! 💙
