Night Sky View

Dusk Walk & Beer Tasting

Celebrate Valentine’s Day with a relaxed, one-off evening experience in Northumberland. Created in collaboration with the North East Dark Skies Festival and First & Last Brewery, this special event combines a gentle guided dusk walk with dark skies, followed by a behind-the-scenes brewery tour and a tasting of local beers in the tap room. Unhurried, atmospheric, and a little bit different.

Why Choose this Event?

The First and Last Brewery sits within the Northumberland International Dark Sky Park, an area with minimal light pollution and beautifully dark skies. It’s a brilliant setting for stargazing, and the perfect backdrop for something a little different this Valentine’s.

We’ll head out from Bellingham as daylight fades, walking into dusk beneath a waning moon. Conditions should be ideal for stargazing and planet spotting, and as we pause to look up and explore the night sky, we’ll use a few simple tools to bring it to life — even if the clouds decide to join us.

Before heading back, we’ll raise a warming toast to the Roman gods Venus and Cupid — for love and fertility, or luck and victory — whatever your heart desires. From there, it’s back to the brewery for a behind-the-scenes tour and tasting. There will be time for a well-earned pint or two (other drinks available) in the Tap Room (other drinks available).

With limited places available, this is an intimate, carefully curated evening celebrating the people, producers and dark skies that make Northumberland so special.

Perfect for couples, singletons, beer lovers, designated drivers, and anyone who enjoys good company and something a bit out of the ordinary.

Did you know, it's estimated that 85% of the UK population has never seen a truly dark sky?
